Global law firm Reed Smith announced that Amalia Sax-Bolder has joined the firm as a partner in its Financial Industry Group in Denver, strengthening its restructuring and bankruptcy capabilities and expanding its presence in the local market.
Sax-Bolder’s practice focuses on representing debtors, lenders, purchasers, secured creditors, equity holders, and strategic investors across a range of complex financial distress situations, including Chapter 11 bankruptcies, receiverships, foreclosures, out-of-court restructurings, and dissolutions. She also advises boards and stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of distressed scenarios and provides counsel on bankruptcy risk in mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and structured finance transactions.
Her experience spans both litigation and transactional matters, including adversary proceedings, arbitrations, relief from stay issues, and property disputes, positioning her to deliver integrated solutions in high-stakes restructuring cases.
The hire supports Reed Smith’s strategy of building out its restructuring platform and enhancing its capabilities in key U.S. markets. The firm’s Denver office, launched in 2025, continues to expand as it establishes a stronger foothold in the region.
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Sax-Bolder was a partner at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck and previously served as counsel at O’Melveny & Myers. She holds a J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, an LL.M. from New York University School of Law, and a B.A. from Vassar College.
