Remedium Bio has raised $10 million in Series A financing led by Lifespan Vision Ventures to advance its durable protein therapeutics platform toward first-in-human clinical development. Eli Lilly and Company and HKX Capital also participated in the round. Lifespan Vision Ventures has completed the initial closing, and Harry Robb of the firm has joined Remedium’s board of directors.

Remedium is developing durable protein therapeutics designed to provide controlled, long-lasting expression of therapeutic proteins following minimally invasive subcutaneous administration.

The company’s approach uses adipocytes as a durable site for therapeutic protein production, with the potential to provide multi-year benefits while allowing dosing to be adjusted for patients with chronic diseases.

Remedium plans to use the Series A financing to advance its lead development programs, expand its technology platform and prepare for first-in-human clinical studies.

The financing follows progress across the company’s pipeline, preclinical programs and strategic collaborations.

Remedium said the funding is expected to support milestones demonstrating the broader potential of its platform across cardiometabolic diseases and other chronic conditions.

The company’s proprietary Prometheus platform is designed to enable durable delivery of therapeutic genes through a single injection while retaining the ability to adjust dosing after treatment.

Remedium’s longer-term goal is to replace certain repeatedly administered subcutaneous protein therapies with adjustable gene therapies capable of providing extended efficacy.

The company is developing programs across endocrinology, immunology, neurology and musculoskeletal diseases.

Lifespan Vision Ventures focuses on early-stage biotechnology companies developing technologies aimed at preventing or treating age-related diseases and extending healthy lifespan.
