RemoteThreat has emerged from stealth with $7 million in pre-seed funding and the launch of its O/C/O Platform, an AI-enabled platform designed for offensive cyber operations. The company is targeting enterprise and critical infrastructure red teams, U.S. government mission teams, and vetted defense partners, with the funding intended to accelerate platform deployment and additional feature development.
The Fulton, Maryland-based company describes O/C/O as a fully integrated, end-to-end commercial platform for offensive cyber operations, combining tools and infrastructure that previously required operators to assemble and integrate across multiple systems. RemoteThreat said the platform is designed to help expert operators conduct sophisticated operations at greater speed and scale while retaining human control over mission decisions.
RemoteThreat was founded by offensive security veterans Chris Thompson and Shawn Jones, who serve as CEO and CTO, respectively. The company’s broader team includes operators, researchers, and engineers with experience at IBM X-Force Adversary Services, Mandiant, SpecterOps, Dreadnode, Bugcrowd, Microsoft, defense contractors, and government organizations.
The team’s backgrounds include developing offensive security tools, conducting cybersecurity research, and leading red-team operations involving defense organizations, nuclear power facilities, critical infrastructure providers, and major financial institutions. RemoteThreat said this experience informed the design of its platform for complex environments where targets and defensive systems can change rapidly.
The O/C/O Platform brings eight connected systems into a single operational environment. These include mission planning, native command-and-control infrastructure, implants, initial-access frameworks, advanced capabilities, obfuscation pipelines, analysis engines, and AI-assisted operations.
RemoteThreat is positioning the platform around a model in which AI augments experienced human operators rather than replacing them with fully automated penetration-testing systems. The company argues that AI-enabled adversaries are becoming faster and more capable, increasing the need for red teams and government cyber operators to combine automation with expert judgment and operational control.
RemoteThreat has also joined U.S. Special Operations Command’s Special Operations Forces Rapid Acquisition Consortium for Emerging Requirements, or SOF RACER, as it seeks to provide offensive cyber capabilities for evolving special operations missions.
The company is also developing relationships with defense technology providers. RemoteThreat is working with Talon Defense to integrate complementary capabilities into existing operational platforms, while its individual components are designed to operate both inside the O/C/O Platform and as part of partner offerings.
The $7 million pre-seed round was led by Osage University Partners and DataTribe, two investors with experience backing cybersecurity and national security technology companies.
RemoteThreat’s launch comes as the U.S. government explores a larger role for private industry in national cyber capabilities. The company cited the March 2026 Cyber Strategy, an August presidential memorandum concerning vetted U.S. companies conducting cyber operations against foreign cybercriminal groups, and congressional proposals focused on industry collaboration and AI-enabled cyber capabilities.
Thompson also serves on the Black Hat USA Review Board and founded Offensive AI Con, or OAIC, an invite-only conference focused on AI-enabled cyber operations. OAIC 2026 is scheduled for October 4-7 in Oceanside, California, bringing together offensive security operators, researchers, government officials, AI organizations, and enterprise security teams.
The O/C/O Platform is available now to qualified enterprise organizations, U.S. government customers, and vetted defense industry customers.
