RenX Appoints James Burnham To Lead Growth And M&A Strategy

By Amit Chowdhry ● Today at 6:53 PM

RenX Enterprises announced that James D. Burnham, co-founder of Resource Group US Holdings, has been appointed Director of Growth and M&A, effective immediately, as the company looks to accelerate expansion through acquisitions, project development, and commercial growth.

As part of the transition, Burnham has resigned from RenX’s Board of Directors to take on the new full-time executive role. The company said his departure from the board was not related to any disagreement with management or company policies.

Burnham brings more than three decades of experience in the solid waste and environmental services industries. After beginning his career at Browning-Ferris Industries, he co-founded Resource Group, which now serves as the operating subsidiary for RenX’s Biomass Recycling segment. Resource Group operates RenX’s permitted 80-plus-acre organics processing facility in Myakka City, Florida.

Since RenX acquired Resource Group in June 2025, Burnham has served as a strategic consultant, advising on business development, financial planning, and corporate strategy. He has also led JDB Consulting Services since 2003, providing advisory services on acquisitions, permitting, project development, and operational analysis across the waste management industry.

In his new role, Burnham will oversee RenX’s growth strategy, focusing on identifying and evaluating acquisition opportunities, advancing development projects, and expanding commercial operations across the company’s Biomass Recycling and Logistics businesses. His efforts will also support the expansion of RenX’s engineered soils and specialty growing media platform.

RenX said the appointment strengthens its ability to scale its environmental processing platform and pursue strategic acquisitions as demand grows for sustainable soil products and organic recycling solutions.

The company develops value-added compost, engineered soils, and specialty growing media using advanced material-processing technologies. Its operations integrate organics processing, milling, blending, and logistics to manufacture engineered soil substrates for agricultural, commercial, and consumer markets while also maintaining a portfolio of legacy real estate assets that it intends to monetize to support future growth.

KEY QUOTE:

“Jim helped build Resource Group from the ground up, and no one knows this business, this industry, or the opportunity in front of us better than he does. Bringing his full attention to RenX as we scale our substrate platform and evaluate growth opportunities is a significant win for the Company and its shareholders.”

David Villarreal, Chief Executive Officer of RenX
