Rep Data, a full-service market research and data quality solutions provider, has acquired ReDem, an in-survey data quality platform, in a deal aimed at bringing pre-survey and in-survey controls into a single end-to-end approach for survey quality assurance. The companies said the combined offering is designed to identify and stop bots, AI-assisted survey takers, professional respondents, duplicate behavior, and other signals associated with low-quality or fraudulent responses across the entire survey lifecycle.
Rep Data said the acquisition pairs its Research Defender product, which blocks high-risk traffic before a respondent enters a survey, with ReDem’s real-time, in-survey response evaluation. Together, the tools are intended to reduce the post-fieldwork remediation work that research teams typically perform, including manual review, reconciliation, and data cleaning after responses have been collected.
The combined framework is positioned to address mounting concerns among researchers that AI-driven fraud and inattentive behavior are eroding research validity and increasing the cost and time required to produce reliable insights. Rep Data said the integrated system can support quality assurance, from sourcing samples in its Research Desk through screening and fraud prevention prior to survey entry, to ongoing monitoring and cleanup while surveys are actively in the field.
ReDem’s platform uses AI-driven scoring models to evaluate behavioral analytics, open-ended response quality, timing patterns, coherence, and duplicate activity, producing scores meant to guide real-time intervention and streamline cleanup. Rep Data said the acquisition strengthens its ability to deliver a defensible, repeatable approach to data quality by combining technology with research and data quality specialists.
The companies said ReDem will remain available as a standalone product and will not become exclusive to Rep Data customers. Rep Data is backed by Mountaingate Capital and said it supports roughly 500 clients across market research agencies, consultancies, Fortune 500 companies, universities, and communications and advertising-related organizations.
