RESA Power, a provider of power systems, electrical testing, transformer services, and life extension solutions for power distribution equipment, has acquired JA Tech, a Saskatoon, Saskatchewan-based provider of electrical power systems services and products.
Founded in 2003, JA Tech offers field and engineering services for electrical power systems. The company’s capabilities include installation and commissioning services, instrumentation, specialized cable evaluation, power transformer assembly, repairs and modifications, and acceptance and preventive maintenance testing.
The acquisition gives RESA Power a presence in Saskatchewan and significantly expands its base of skilled technicians in western Canada. JA Tech also brings additional technical expertise and complementary service capabilities that enhance RESA Power’s existing offerings.
RESA Power said the deal supports its broader strategy of expanding across Canada and building regional hubs that specialize in delivering electrical power testing services, engineering, and in-house manufacturing of power distribution equipment. The company now operates in five Canadian provinces as part of its continued growth strategy.
JA Tech has developed a strong reputation in sectors including utilities and mining, and the partnership is expected to expand the range of products and services available to customers across Canada.
RESA Power is a portfolio company of Kohlberg, a U.S.-based private equity firm that focuses on middle-market healthcare and services companies. RESA Power operates more than 50 locations across the United States and Canada, providing services for transformers, relays, breakers, and other critical power distribution and control system components. The company also manufactures and retrofits switchgear and breaker solutions and maintains inventory for obsolete and hard-to-find components.
