Reseda Group, a wholly owned credit union service organization of MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU), announced the acquisition of Tandem, an Ann Arbor-based fintech app designed to help couples manage shared finances. The acquisition represents a significant step in Reseda Group’s mission to build a comprehensive family banking ecosystem that evolves with members throughout each stage of their financial life.

Tandem has become a leading platform for couples seeking a more transparent and collaborative approach to managing shared expenses. The app currently supports the management of hundreds of millions of dollars in shared finances, helping users move from individual financial management to joint and family-oriented banking experiences.

The acquisition follows Reseda Group’s early investment in Tandem and builds on their established partnership. By integrating Tandem into its portfolio, Reseda Group plans to expand its digital financial solutions to include tools for families with children and aging parents. This move aligns with Reseda Group and MSUFCU’s broader vision of offering members a seamless journey from individual accounts to joint and dependent accounts within one ecosystem.

Tandem’s founders, Michelle Winterfield and Dan Couvreur, will join Reseda Group as Vice Presidents, where they will continue to lead Tandem’s evolution and develop future family banking products. Both founders expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity to scale their mission and bring modern, human-centered financial tools to millions of families.

Tandem has earned a strong reputation among Gen Z and Millennial couples for its simple, educational, and community-driven approach to shared banking. These generations increasingly expect financial tools to be collaborative, digital, and transparent, with women often leading household financial decisions. Reseda Group’s acquisition of Tandem reflects this generational shift, as the organization continues to modernize financial engagement across its network.

Reseda Group, formed in 2021 and headquartered in East Lansing, is known for redefining how people and institutions interact with finances. By building and partnering with innovative fintechs, Reseda Group provides accessible, human-focused technology solutions to credit unions and consumers nationwide.
