GreenSpark Software and ReMatter announced a definitive agreement to combine and form ReSpark, a unified software platform designed for the metal recycling and scrap yard industry. The newly formed company brings together two purpose-built platforms, integrating their products, teams, and customer bases to serve operators across the United States, Canada, and international markets.
The combined entity will support more than 800 scrap companies operating across over 1,000 facilities. ReSpark’s platform is designed to address the full operational scope of modern recycling businesses, including ticketing, logistics, dispatch, pricing, document processing, financial workflows, brokerage, export, and AI-powered automation.
The merger integrates GreenSpark’s AI-native facility management capabilities, workflow automation, and ERP integrations with ReMatter’s mobile-first dispatch tools, compliance systems, and financial infrastructure. The result is a comprehensive platform built to support operations ranging from single-yard businesses to complex multinational enterprises.
ReSpark aims to accelerate the deployment of AI-driven tools across the recycling industry, including intelligent dispatch, automated pricing, and document processing. The combined scale of the organization is expected to enable both faster product innovation and enhanced customer support capabilities, addressing a longstanding trade-off between technological advancement and service depth.
Customers of both companies will not experience immediate changes to their existing products, contracts, or pricing. The company stated that it is committed to providing a seamless transition while gradually expanding access to the full capabilities of the combined platform.
ReSpark will debut publicly at the ReMA National Conference in Las Vegas from April 13 to April 16, 2026.
Leadership of the combined company includes Gordon Driscoll as CEO, Wyatt Pontius as Chief Product Officer, and Drake Hougo as President. The founding teams from both GreenSpark and ReMatter will remain with the organization.
ReSpark will operate with offices in Los Angeles and New York and position itself as a long-term technology partner for the global metal recycling industry.
KEY QUOTES:
“Metal recycling is one of the most operationally complex industries in the world, and for too long it has been underserved by software that was built for a different era. This industry deserves a platform that keeps up with the operators running it. ReSpark is built to do that: the product depth operators need, the support organization to back it at scale, and the AI roadmap to lead them into what comes next. We are finally in a position to deliver all of it simultaneously, without trade-offs.”
Gordon Driscoll, CEO, ReSpark
“The operators in this industry have always been ahead of the software available to them. They have been running sophisticated operations on infrastructure that was not built to match them. ReSpark is the platform that closes that gap – a team that has spent years inside this industry, combined with the resources and the architecture to build what the next twenty years of this market demands.”
Drake Hougo, President, ReSpark
