Restaurant Brands International: Burger King U.S. Comparable Sales Jump 8.5% As $700 Million Reclaim The Flame Plan Advances

Restaurant Brands International reported a significant acceleration at Burger King U.S. during the second quarter of 2026 as its multi-year Reclaim the Flame investment program continues reshaping the brand’s restaurants, technology and marketing.

Burger King U.S. comparable sales increased 8.5%, compared with 1.5% growth in the prior-year quarter. Across the broader Burger King segment, comparable sales increased 8.6% and system-wide sales grew 8.2% to $3.193 billion.

Burger King segment Adjusted Operating Income increased 13.2% to $137 million from $121 million, while franchise and property revenue increased to $198 million from $182 million.

The performance comes as RBI advances Reclaim the Flame, which calls for up to $700 million of investment through the end of 2028. The program includes advertising and digital investments completed in 2024 as well as remodels, restaurant relocations, technology, kitchen equipment and building improvements.

RBI plans as much as $550 million of investment specifically under the Royal Reset component of the program. As of June 30, the company had funded approximately $194 million of that amount.

The Burger King improvement helped consolidated comparable sales accelerate to 3.8%, while total system-wide sales increased 6.4% to $12.702 billion. International remained another growth driver, with system-wide sales increasing 10.7% and comparable sales rising 5.5%.

RBI returned $435 million of capital to shareholders during Q2 through dividends and share repurchases. The company continues to target at least 8% organic Adjusted Operating Income growth in 2026.
