Rev1 Ventures announced that founders supported through its venture studio platform generated $718 million in total economic impact during 2025 despite a difficult venture capital environment for early-stage startups. The organization said the results reflect continued resilience and growth across Central Ohio’s startup ecosystem amid broader national funding challenges.

According to the organization, Central Ohio startups raised $348 million across 55 venture deals during 2025, even as venture funding nationally became increasingly concentrated among a smaller number of companies and coastal technology ecosystems.

Rev1 Ventures reported that supported founders generated $174 million in revenue during the year, contributed to $274 million in exits, and created or retained 841 jobs. Collectively, companies supported by Rev1 now employ more than 2,700 people, a workforce size the organization said would rank among the top 20 regional employers.

Since 2013, founders supported through Rev1 Ventures have generated approximately $7.51 billion in cumulative economic impact, reflecting continued startup formation and the growth of venture-backed companies into larger businesses.

The organization also highlighted the launch of Rev1 at The Peninsula during 2025, a founder-focused innovation hub developed in partnership with City of Columbus and Downtown Columbus, Inc.. The new facility is intended to support software and advanced technology startups and position Columbus as home to one of the nation’s largest city-supported innovation centers focused on high-growth technology companies.

Rev1 Ventures said it will further highlight the findings from its 2025 Impact Report during its upcoming Customer to Capital Accelerator Community Celebration scheduled for May 20, where founders, investors, mentors, and community leaders will gather to showcase emerging startups in Central Ohio.

The firm operates as a Midwest venture studio focused on supporting founders in SaaS, AI, deep technology, and life sciences by helping startups validate markets, gain traction, and prepare for venture-scale growth.

KEY QUOTE:

“These results reflect the strength and resilience of founders building high-growth companies in Central Ohio during one of the most challenging venture markets in recent years. Even as early-stage capital became harder to access nationally, founders in our ecosystem continued gaining traction, generating revenue, creating jobs, and positioning themselves for long-term scale. That’s exactly what Rev1 was built to do – help high-potential startups move from early validation to becoming venture-ready growth companies.”
