RGREEN INVEST: €900 Million Raised For INFRAGREEN V Energy Infrastructure Strategy

By Amit Chowdhry ● Mar 14, 2026

RGREEN INVEST, a French investment management company focused on financing the energy transition, announced the final close of its INFRAGREEN V strategy with more than €900 million in capital commitments. The fund will be used to finance energy infrastructure projects across Europe to strengthen energy sovereignty, support industrial competitiveness, and accelerate the continent’s transition to cleaner power systems.

The capital raise comes as Europe faces rising geopolitical tensions, intensifying climate pressures, and rapid digital transformation, all reshaping energy demand and infrastructure requirements. Policymakers and industry leaders have warned that hundreds of billions of euros in annual investment will be required to modernize and expand Europe’s energy systems. INFRAGREEN V is designed to mobilize institutional capital to help close that investment gap and support the development of resilient and competitive energy infrastructure.

The strategy targets mid-market opportunities across Europe, with a focus on renewable energy generation, energy storage, and electrification projects. RGREEN INVEST also plans to direct investment toward regions with significant infrastructure needs, particularly Central and Eastern Europe, where modernization of energy systems is considered critical to supporting long-term economic growth and energy security.

INFRAGREEN V has been classified as an Article 9 fund under the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation and carries the Greenfin label, reflecting its environmental investment focus. The fund also introduces a value-sharing mechanism tied directly to the achievement of climate targets, aligning investor returns with environmental performance.

The strategy already includes several assets within its portfolio. These include NW Storm, an energy storage platform operating across Europe; Renalfa IPP, a renewable energy developer and independent power producer focused on Central and Eastern Europe; and Belenergia, an Italian biomethane company expanding green gas production to support the country’s energy independence.

Institutional investors backing the strategy include the European Investment Fund and the French Pension Reserve Fund. RGREEN INVEST said the participation of these institutions, alongside several major insurance companies and international investors, reflects strong market confidence in the firm’s ability to finance large-scale energy transition infrastructure.

Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Paris, RGREEN INVEST focuses on directing institutional capital toward projects that accelerate the global energy transition and support climate change mitigation and adaptation.

KEY QUOTE:

“Implementing Europe’s energy transition at speed and to required levels of capacity has become one of Europe’s defining challenges. In this context of geopolitical tensions and rapidly evolving digital systems, large-scale investment in competitive infrastructure is essential to strengthening Europe’s energy sovereignty. With INFRAGREEN V, we are helping accelerate that effort by developing infrastructure at the scale required.”
