Rig Security has emerged from stealth with $12 million in seed funding to develop an identity protection platform designed for human, machine, and AI-agent identities. Ten Eleven Ventures and Brightmind Partners co-led the financing, with strategic participation from the CrowdStrike Falcon Fund.
Other investors include cybersecurity founders and executives such as Wiz Co-Founder Ami Luttwak.
Rig is targeting a security challenge created by AI agents that operate using identities, credentials and sessions belonging to people or service accounts.
The platform is designed to distinguish activity performed by an AI agent from activity performed directly by the human or machine identity whose access it is using.
Rig combines Identity Security Posture Management and Identity Threat Detection and Response with controls specifically designed for AI and other non-human identities.
Its proprietary Rig Identity Correlation Engine, or RICE, correlates the same identity across identity providers, cloud infrastructure, on-premises systems, network edges and endpoints.
Rig said internal testing showed RICE resolving identities with more than 96% accuracy.
The system feeds Rig’s Identity Dependencies Graph, which maps relationships among accounts, permissions, sessions and trust relationships.
Rig also offers a lightweight endpoint sensor that can distinguish an AI agent’s session from a person’s activity and enforce policies before the agent’s requested action reaches cloud systems.
The company said it is already in production with Fortune 200 organizations across financial services, insurance, healthcare and technology.
Rig protects tens of millions of identity activities and has grown to 20 employees.
The company’s platform is also available through AWS Marketplace and CrowdStrike Marketplace.
KEY QUOTES:
“Identity used to mean people’s credentials. Today, the most active identities in an enterprise are AI agents, and they are acting under human names. Security teams can see that an account did something dangerous. What they cannot see is whether a person did it or an agent did, and they cannot stop the agent without blocking the person. The problem is access that is broader than intended, ungoverned, and hiding behind human activity. We built Rig so organizations can unleash AI securely: know exactly which agents exist, what access they have borrowed right now, what they are doing with it, and enforce policy on it at runtime.”
Guy Kozliner, Founder and CEO of Rig Security
“AI agents are already helping our teams across operations, marketing, engineering, and other parts of the business analyze information, create content, write code, investigate issues, and automate everyday work. But when an agent acts on behalf of an employee, traditional identity security tools cannot reliably distinguish the agent’s activity from the person’s. Rig extends identity protection to these agents — showing us which agents are operating, whose access they are using, and how to control their actions without getting in the employee’s way.”
Bill Harper, AVP Digital Identity at New American Funding
“Identity has become the dominant breach vector and one of the least unified areas of defense, as organizations contend with a growing mix of human, machine and AI-driven identities. Most tools stop at showing the problem. Rig goes further, connecting visibility, risk and real-time enforcement so security teams can actually act on identity risk, including risk created by AI agents. The momentum Rig has built with enterprise customers is clear validation of what Guy and his world-class team are building. We believe Rig is poised to define how organizations secure identity in the AI era.”
