Riko’s Pizza has officially acquired its franchise locations in Merrick and Levittown, New York, transitioning both sites into fully corporate-owned operations. The deal was finalized on August 31, 2026, but the specific financial details were not made public.
Riko’s first franchisee originally developed these two restaurants, marking a significant milestone for the company. The Levittown location opened in 2020, becoming Riko’s inaugural franchise and the first restaurant outside Connecticut. Following this, Riko launched a second restaurant in Mineola in 2021, which later relocated to a larger venue in Merrick in 2023 to accommodate growing customer demand.
Both the Merrick and Levittown restaurants will continue to operate under Riko’s corporate management, with plans for further investment into these locations as the brand looks to expand its footprint throughout Long Island. Moreover, Riko’s Pizza is preparing to introduce a brand-new corporate restaurant at the Shops at SunVet in Holbrook, New York, with an anticipated opening date set for 2027. This development reflects the company’s commitment to growth and enhancing its presence in the region.
KEY QUOTE:
“Merrick and Levittown have already proven that Riko’s resonates strongly here, and this acquisition gives us the opportunity to invest further in those restaurants while strategically expanding our presence across Nassau and Suffolk counties.”
Carl Bachmann, President and CEO of Riko’s Pizza
