Ripple Expanding Institutional Crypto Capabilities With Acquisition of Palisade

Ripple has announced the acquisition of Palisade, a digital asset wallet and custody technology company, in a move that broadens its offerings to fintechs, corporates, and crypto-native institutions. The deal strengthens Ripple’s position as a comprehensive provider of secure digital asset custody and payment infrastructure.

Ripple Custody, which already serves leading financial institutions such as Absa Bank, BBVA, DBS, and Societe Generale – FORGE, is built to provide bank-grade security for digital assets, stablecoins, and tokenized real-world assets. With the addition of Palisade’s “wallet-as-a-service” platform, Ripple can now serve customers with higher transaction speeds, real-time payments, and scalable wallet provisioning for both high-frequency transactions and treasury management.

Palisade’s technology features a lightweight architecture built for speed and security, incorporating Multi-Party Computation (MPC), zero-trust architecture, and multi-chain support. These capabilities enable secure wallet creation, cross-chain digital asset management, and seamless integration with decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms. Its infrastructure also supports quick wallet provisioning, lending, yield protocols, and operational fund sweeping at scale.

The acquisition extends Ripple’s ability to integrate custody into Ripple Payments, allowing faster and more efficient value movement for subscription-based and on-demand payment use cases. The move reflects Ripple’s ongoing investment in digital asset infrastructure, as the company continues to expand into custody, payments, and prime brokerage.

Ripple’s broader strategy encompasses a series of acquisitions and investments totaling approximately $4 billion in the digital asset ecosystem, including prime broker Hidden Road (now rebranded as Ripple Prime), stablecoin payments platform Rail, and treasury management provider GTreasury. With more than 75 regulatory licenses and registrations globally, Ripple continues to position itself as a bridge between traditional finance and decentralized ecosystems.

KEY QUOTE:

“Secure digital asset custody unlocks the crypto economy and is the foundation that every blockchain-powered business stands on—that’s why it’s central to Ripple’s product strategy. Corporates are poised to drive the next massive wave of crypto adoption. Just as we’ve seen major banks go from observing to actively building in crypto, corporates are now entering the market, and they need trusted, licensed partners with out-of-the-box capabilities. The combination of Ripple’s bank-grade vault and Palisade’s fast, lightweight wallet makes Ripple Custody the end-to-end provider for every institutional need, from long-term storage to real-time global payments and treasury management.”
