Riverain Technologies is expanding access to its FDA-cleared ClearRead Chest cardiothoracic imaging AI suite through RapidAI’s Rapid Enterprise Platform, extending Riverain’s lung and cardiac imaging technology into a unified enterprise clinical AI environment.
The integration is intended to help radiologists identify subtle findings, reduce cognitive burden and move more efficiently from imaging insights to clinical action while limiting workflow fragmentation.
ClearRead Chest is designed for chest CT and X-ray imaging and helps radiologists detect, characterize and visualize pulmonary nodules, pneumothoraces and coronary artery calcification.
The suite also incorporates Riverain’s patented vessel and bone suppression technology, which is designed to provide a clearer view of the lungs by reducing visual obstruction from anatomical structures. Riverain said this approach can improve the visualization of nodules and other potential pathology.
Riverain develops cardiothoracic imaging technology intended to support earlier and more confident identification of subtle findings while integrating into radiologists’ existing workflows.
By adding ClearRead Chest to RapidAI’s platform, Riverain is extending those capabilities into an enterprise environment that connects imaging intelligence, clinical workflows and patient management.
The ClearRead Chest suite will integrate with several components of the Rapid Enterprise Platform, including Rapid Edge Cloud infrastructure, the Rapid Navigator Pro radiology workflow solution, RapidAI’s mobile and web applications and the company’s AI governance capabilities.
The companies said the integration is designed to provide a secure and interoperable experience across PACS, electronic health record and reporting systems.
This approach could allow health systems to deploy Riverain’s cardiothoracic imaging technology without requiring separate workflows or additional standalone infrastructure for each AI application.
The collaboration also significantly expands Riverain’s potential distribution footprint. ClearRead Chest will be available to RapidAI’s installed base of more than 2,500 hospitals.
For Riverain, the arrangement provides a broader path to scale its cardiothoracic imaging intelligence across hospitals and health systems. Customers will be able to access both Riverain and RapidAI technologies through a connected workflow rather than managing the products through separate systems.
The partnership supports Riverain’s broader mission of reducing delayed cardiothoracic diagnoses by putting ClearRead Chest within the systems radiologists already use in their daily work.
Riverain specifically highlighted lung cancer and cardiovascular disease as areas where earlier detection can have significant clinical importance.
For RapidAI, the integration adds clinically validated third-party cardiothoracic AI capabilities to its enterprise imaging ecosystem, expanding its existing full-body clinical AI portfolio with technology focused on lung and cardiovascular disease.
The companies are positioning the integration as a way for health systems to scale AI adoption while maintaining consistent clinical workflows, centralized infrastructure and enterprise-level governance.
KEY QUOTES:
“ClearRead was developed to help radiologists see subtle chest findings more clearly and confidently within the workflows they already rely on every day. By integrating ClearRead Chest into the Rapid Enterprise Platform, we’re expanding access to our advanced chest imaging technology to support earlier detection of leading global killers like lung cancer, and cardiovascular disease and reduce the burden on radiologists facing increasingly complex imaging workloads.”
