Roamless announced it has raised a $12 million Series A round as it works to build what it describes as the world’s first “truly global” mobile operator, aiming to simplify how travelers stay connected across borders. The round was led by Rasmal Ventures, with participation from Shorooq and Revo Capital, as well as additional backing from Finberg and JIMCO, the company said. Roamless said the financing brings its total capital raised to $18 million since launching in 2023.
Roamless positions its app as an alternative to conventional roaming and country-by-country eSIM purchases, offering what it calls a single global eSIM experience that works across destinations without repeated installations or SIM changes. The company said it operates its own carrier-grade, cloud-based telecom infrastructure rather than acting solely as a reseller, enabling it to expand beyond data-only offerings over time.
The company currently offers pay-as-you-go connectivity that it says does not expire as long as users continue to top up, as well as 30-day destination plans for specific countries. Roamless said it serves more than 1 million travelers across more than 200 countries and territories and has grown nearly fivefold year over year.
Roamless said it will use the new capital to expand coverage, scale go-to-market efforts, improve customer support, and deepen partnerships with suppliers and customers.
On product development, the company said it plans to introduce “Roamless Numbers,” enabling users to obtain local phone numbers in more than 20 countries and make calls and send or receive SMS directly in the app. Roamless also said it is expanding business-to-business offerings through APIs and embedded connectivity partnerships with airlines, airports, online travel agencies, financial institutions, and superapps, while developing AI-powered capabilities intended to optimize network performance, lower costs, and surface partner offers contextually.
Roamless also highlighted partnerships and campaigns involving organizations including Visa, Heathrow Airport, Istanbul Airport, Vueling Airlines, Flair Airlines, Grab, and local banks.
