Robinhood Markets announced that its closed-end Robinhood Ventures Fund I (RVI) has completed investments in two high-profile private companies, Stripe and ElevenLabs, marking the fund’s latest move to expand retail investor access to private markets.
The investments include approximately $14.6 million in Stripe through secondary transactions and nearly $20 million in ElevenLabs via a primary funding round. The transactions were completed in March 2026, shortly after RVI began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on March 6 under the ticker RVI.
Stripe, a financial services and payments platform founded in 2010, provides businesses with tools for payments, revenue management, and financial operations. ElevenLabs, founded in 2022 and based in London, focuses on artificial intelligence-driven voice and audio technologies, offering tools for speech generation, conversational agents, and media creation across multiple languages.
These additions expand RVI’s growing portfolio of private companies, which includes firms such as Databricks, Revolut, Ramp, Oura, Airwallex, Boom, and Mercor. The fund is designed to provide retail investors with exposure to private companies that have traditionally been accessible only to institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals.
Unlike many traditional venture capital vehicles, RVI does not require investors to be accredited and does not charge performance fees, aiming to lower barriers to entry into private market investing. Robinhood Ventures serves as the investment adviser to the fund, which is structured to offer a concentrated portfolio of private companies with the potential for long-term growth.
The company indicated that additional investments are expected over time as it continues to build out the portfolio across sectors such as fintech and artificial intelligence.
