Robo.ai announced the completion of its acquisition of Neurovia AI, acquiring 100% of the company’s equity and making it a wholly owned subsidiary. The deal marks a significant step in Robo.ai’s strategy to expand its AI software capabilities and establish a stronger foundation in AI data infrastructure.
Based in Abu Dhabi, Neurovia AI specializes in visual data processing and compression technologies designed to address the growing infrastructure challenges associated with large-scale AI deployments. The company’s flagship platform, NeuroStream™, was recently unveiled at ISNR 2026, where testing demonstrated the ability to compress a 12.15GB 4K 60fps raw video file to 421MB, reducing storage requirements by 96.37% while maintaining visually lossless quality.
Neurovia AI’s technology is designed to provide optimized data sources for machine vision and AI applications, helping organizations transition visual data architectures from systems built for human viewing to those optimized for machine understanding.
During ISNR 2026, Neurovia AI engaged with government officials, public company executives, and commercial customers across the region to discuss challenges related to long-term data retention, compliance requirements, and infrastructure costs. According to the company, feedback from those discussions supported the commercial potential of the NeuroStream™ architecture for reducing hardware expenditures and easing infrastructure constraints associated with AI deployments. Neurovia AI has since begun preparations for Proof of Concept deployments with strategic regional partners to validate the platform in enterprise environments.
Robo.ai believes the acquisition positions the company to benefit from a shift in the AI market toward data infrastructure as organizations seek more efficient ways to manage growing volumes of visual information. NeuroStream™ is expected to serve as Robo.ai’s core data layer, supporting applications including autonomous driving, robotaxis, smart cities, intelligent manufacturing, and robotics networks.
The acquisition also expands Robo.ai’s technology stack across data infrastructure, AI operating systems, and industry-specific applications. The company said Neurovia AI’s platform can help lower storage, transmission, computing, and operational costs, creating a more efficient framework for large-scale AI deployments. Robo.ai plans to pursue commercialization opportunities through data infrastructure licensing, enterprise SaaS offerings, and smart city solutions, with the goal of increasing higher-margin software revenue.
