Robot.com, a San Francisco-based autonomous robotics company, has appointed Gregory D. Smith to its board of directors as an observer. Smith currently serves as Chairman of American Airlines’ board and is the co-founder of G2 Equity Partners. The appointment coincides with Robot.com surpassing 2.5 million completed tasks, a milestone the company describes as a signal of its shift from early-stage growth to enterprise-grade operations.
Smith brings more than three decades of experience in aerospace and large-scale enterprise operations. He served as Executive Vice President of Enterprise Operations and CFO of The Boeing Company for 10 years, where he oversaw the company’s financial operations, enterprise strategy, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and program management, as well as Boeing Capital’s corporate audit function and its environmental, social, and governance initiatives. He co-founded G2 Equity Partners after his time at Boeing, focusing on companies that build operational infrastructure for large enterprises. His current and prior board service spans Intel, Sierra Space, ShieldAI, Ignium, and American Airlines.
Founded in 2017, Robot.com operates a dual-engine business model spanning Robotic Services, which delivers Level 4 autonomous robots for campus delivery, warehouse logistics, and inspection, and Robot.com Media, a national out-of-home advertising platform powered by its mobile robot fleet. The company has more than 500 robots deployed across university campuses, warehouse facilities, and digital out-of-home activations across the United States, Canada, Dubai, and the MENA region, and partners with enterprise operators including Sodexo and GXO.
