RobotPlusPlus Raises Series C Worth Hundreds Of Millions Of RMB To Scale Working-At-Height Industrial Robots

RobotPlusPlus has raised a Series C round worth hundreds of millions of RMB, equivalent to tens of millions of U.S. dollars, as the industrial robotics company expands internationally and develops embodied AI systems for hazardous industrial work. Qianggang Capital Fund led the financing, with participation from GIG Capital Group, Sealand Innovation and Juntong Capital. Existing investor Fosun RZ Capital increased its stake.

RobotPlusPlus develops robots designed to replace manual work on scaffolding and other difficult or hazardous structures across shipyards, oil and gas facilities, wind farms and building façades.

Its hull derusting robots have been deployed at more than 100 shipyards and worked on more than 10,000 cargo vessels. The company said the systems hold more than 70% market share and can improve efficiency five to six times while lowering overall costs by 30% to 50% compared with manual methods.

RobotPlusPlus now operates across more than 18 countries. Customers and partners include NOSCO Shipyard, Drydocks World, ST Engineering Marine, Saudi Aramco and Vopak.

More than 60% of its workforce is dedicated to research and development, and R&D spending has exceeded 20% of revenue for three consecutive years.

Its robots have accumulated more than 2 million operating hours, providing real-world industrial data that RobotPlusPlus is using to improve vertical AI models for challenging environments.

The Series C provides additional capital as the company moves beyond individual specialized robots toward more comprehensive embodied intelligence and autonomous industrial operating systems.

KEY QUOTES:

“The true value of industrial robotics lies in real-world execution. Over ten years, we have built special-purpose robots that are genuinely deployable at scale, and this round lets us bring those solutions to more industrial sites around the world.”

Dr. Hua-Yang Xu, Founder and CEO of RobotPlusPlus

“The endgame for embodied AI in industry is not the laboratory; it is the most demanding worksites. RobotPlusPlus has brought robot fleets to commercial scale and expanded from ship-hull derusting into other demanding industrial applications. We see the potential for a global platform in autonomous industrial operations.”

Zhang Zhenming, General Manager of Qianggang Capital Fund

“We first invested in 2022 and have continued to increase our commitment. RobotPlusPlus has built deep expertise in special-purpose robotics and marine applications. Its move from individual robots to industrial-grade embodied intelligence and complete system solutions creates strong technical barriers for high-risk industrial environments.”

Jin Hualong, Chairman of Fosun RZ Capital
