roclub, the teleoperation platform for medical technology, announced it has raised $11.7 million in Series A funding to accelerate its expansion into the U.S. market. The funding round was co-led by Smedvig Ventures and YZR, with participation from existing investor Speedinvest and a group of angel investors.
The funding will support the company’s launch in the United States, the development of its medical technologist marketplace, and the continued rollout of its AI-powered teleoperations platform.
roclub’s technology redefines how healthcare providers operate complex medical equipment by enabling remote management of devices such as MRI and CT scanners. Built on a cloud- and AI-based architecture, the platform allows qualified technologists to operate multiple machines across locations simultaneously, addressing severe technologist shortages in the U.S. healthcare system. The solution ensures business continuity, maximizes equipment utilization, and reduces costly downtime.
At the core of the platform is the roclub connector—a compact, smartphone-sized device that can attach to any medtech machine with a monitor as a front-end interface. This enables secure, real-time remote access and control from anywhere, complete with integrated video and audio communication between remote operators, on-site teams, and patients. By offering hybrid work capabilities for technologists and improving patient throughput, roclub enhances efficiency and patient outcomes across health systems.
Founded by Dr. Matthias Issing and André Glardon, roclub originated from the founders’ direct experience managing a network of diagnostic centers in Europe, where staff shortages frequently left medical equipment idle. The company’s teleoperation model proved successful across 11 countries in Europe and is now expanding to meet growing demand in the United States—a market characterized by regional disparities in healthcare staffing and reimbursement-driven efficiency pressures.
In addition to fueling its U.S. expansion, the new funding will accelerate the launch of roclub’s medical technologist marketplace, expected in late 2025. This platform will connect hospitals and clinics with certified technologists capable of remotely operating connected imaging and diagnostic equipment. The marketplace aims to alleviate staffing gaps in rural and underserved regions while providing technologists with flexible, location-independent work opportunities.
The company plans to double its workforce in 2026 as it builds out U.S.-based sales, customer success, and support functions. By uniting medtech, robotics, AI, and ultra-low-latency connectivity, roclub aspires to become the global standard for medical teleoperations.
