Roku Inc (NASDAQ: ROKU) is reportedly in talks to buy the content library from Quibi according to The Wall Street Journal. Quibi was a short-lived streaming platform that created content for viewing on mobile devices.
The Wall Street Journal did not disclose the price for a potential acquisition. And a deal may not end up being finalized. If the deal goes through, then it would provide the Roku Channel with additional content.
Quibi announced in October that it was shutting down. And it had launched just 6 months prior to the shutdown.
Former HP and eBay CEO Meg Whitman and former Disney chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg were the heads of Quibi. And they had raised nearly $2 billion in funding for Quibi prior to the launch.
Disclosure: I have a small ROKU position in my stock portfolio
