Ropes & Gray has added private equity lawyer Paul Dali as a partner in London, a move the firm says strengthens its European private capital capabilities and cross-border M&A support for private equity and asset management clients.
The firm said Dali will focus on private equity and M&A, bringing extensive international transaction experience with particular emphasis on private equity and asset management M&A. Ropes & Gray positioned the hire as part of a broader effort to meet growing client demand for sophisticated private capital solutions across Europe, leveraging its offices in London, Milan, Paris, and Dublin as a single European hub that collaborates with colleagues in Asia and the United States.
Dali joins from EQT Group, where he served as managing director and group general counsel, M&A and Investments. At EQT, he led acquisitions of several asset management firms, including Baring Private Equity Asia and Exeter Property Group. The firm also highlighted his experience across both private and public M&A, including private M&A buyouts and take-private transactions, as well as portfolio management, corporate governance, transactional regulatory matters, and fund formation.
Ropes & Gray said Dali is the latest partner addition to its European practice as it continues to grow in response to demand for cross-border expertise. In London, he will work alongside the firm’s European private equity transactions team of ten partners: John Newton, Elizabeth Todd, Cataldo Piccarreta, Shona Ha, Vicky McGrath, Fabrice Cohen, Emmanuel Mimin, Giorgia Lugli, Luca Maranetto, and Alessandro Capogrosso.
