Ropes & Gray announced it has added capital markets, private equity, and M&A lawyer Alessandro Capogrosso as a partner in its Milan office, continuing the firm’s push to deepen its European transactional capabilities and support clients on cross-border deals.
The firm said Capogrosso brings significant experience advising global financial sponsors, investment banks, and other financial institutions on complex domestic and international transactions. His work spans private and public M&A, as well as business combinations, tender offers, leveraged buyouts, IPOs, rights issues, and private placements of equity and debt securities.
Capogrosso joins a Milan office that opened in September 2025, which the firm launched in response to rising client demand for cross-border support in Italy. He will work alongside private equity partners Giorgia Lugli and Luca Maranetto, as Ropes & Gray continues building out its European platform, anchored by longstanding operations in London and Paris.
Firm leaders positioned the hire as both a strategic addition to the Italy offering and a broader signal of investment in markets central to clients’ global deal activity.
