RoslinCT Awarded Up To £7.25 Million Scottish Enterprise Grant For Digital Cell Therapy Manufacturing

RoslinCT has been awarded an R&D grant of up to £7.25 million from Scottish Enterprise to accelerate the digital transformation of its cell therapy manufacturing operations in Scotland.

The grant supports a multi-year digital expansion initiative intended to strengthen RoslinCT’s integrated digital and artificial intelligence capabilities.

RoslinCT is a cell therapy contract development and manufacturing organization supporting developers across process development, analytical development, GMP manufacturing and preparation for commercial production.

The new program will focus on developing a more digitally integrated manufacturing environment across the company’s Scottish operations.

RoslinCT expects the initiative to improve operational efficiency, data connectivity and manufacturing performance.

The company sees digital infrastructure as increasingly important as advanced cell therapies move from clinical development toward larger-scale commercial manufacturing.

More connected manufacturing data can potentially help identify process issues earlier, improve consistency and allow customers to progress therapies through development more efficiently.

RoslinCT said the project will support both clinical and commercial cell therapy production while contributing to employment and economic growth in Scotland’s life sciences industry.

The company has operated in Scotland for approximately two decades and has participated in the development and manufacturing of therapies targeting cancer, genetic disorders and other complex diseases.

The Scottish Enterprise support is intended to help RoslinCT continue investing in advanced manufacturing infrastructure as international competition in cell and gene therapy production increases.
