Rotostitch: $1 Million Pre-Seed Funding Raised To Advance Automated Apparel Manufacturing

By Amit Chowdhry ● Dec 8, 2025

Rotostitch has raised $1 million in an oversubscribed pre-seed investment round led by Boost VC and Nova Threshold, marking a significant early milestone for the San Francisco manufacturing startup developing automated textile production technologies. The new funding will support product development, expand manufacturing capabilities, and advance commercial rollout efforts as the company positions itself within a rapidly transforming apparel supply chain.

Founded by former engineers from Tesla, Neuralink, and Apple, Rotostitch aims to modernize garment production by deploying proprietary hardware and software to increase production speed, improve flexibility, and support on-demand manufacturing. The company’s approach helps fashion brands move from concept to finished product more quickly while enhancing sustainability and reducing waste.

Rotostitch’s leadership team, which includes Co-Founder and CEO Leah McClure and Co-Founder and CTO Anson Tsang, is building a platform intended to adapt to evolving customer needs and industry standards. The company describes its architecture as a foundation for a more localized, responsive, and environmentally conscious supply chain. With rising pressure on brands to shorten lead times and operate more efficiently, Rotostitch believes its automation technologies can accelerate industry-wide adoption of smart, agile production systems.

The company expects the new funding to advance its proprietary manufacturing system, support additional engineering hires, and prepare for broader market engagement as apparel brands look for more flexible production options.
