RTC Aerospace (RTCA), a precision manufacturing partner serving the aerospace, defense, and space industries, announced the acquisition of Automatic Products Co. (APC), a manufacturer of precision milling and turning components and mechanical assemblies. The transaction marks the largest acquisition in RTCA’s history and its third acquisition since joining the Stellex Capital Management platform in 2022.
The acquisition is expected to increase RTCA’s growth capacity while adding complementary manufacturing capabilities, technical expertise, and customer relationships across aerospace, defense, and space and satellite programs. APC operates a more than 120,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Sumner, Washington, with capabilities that include turning, milling, grinding, deburring, and honing across advanced materials such as Inconel, titanium, and stainless steel.
By combining operations, the companies expect to offer a broader range of advanced manufacturing solutions and greater scale to support increasing customer demand and more complex program requirements across mission-critical industries.
RTCA manufactures complex-machined components and high-precision parts for military and commercial aircraft. The company serves Tier 1 suppliers and OEM customers through facilities in Chatsworth and Simi Valley, California; Rockford, Michigan; and Fife, Washington.
Stellex Capital Management, which has more than $6.9 billion in assets under management, has supported RTCA’s expansion strategy since 2022. The private equity firm focuses on sectors including aerospace and defense, government services, transportation and logistics, manufacturing, food processing, and tech-enabled services.
