Pratt & Whitney Canada will invest C$275 million to expand and modernize manufacturing operations at its Longueuil, Quebec, facility. The investment will be supported by the Canadian and Quebec governments.
The project is intended to strengthen production capabilities at Pratt & Whitney Canada’s global headquarters and largest manufacturing location. The site employs nearly 4,500 people who support engines used across regional, business, general aviation and rotorcraft platforms.
Pratt & Whitney Canada plans to add automated production lines, upgrade machinery and introduce advanced digital manufacturing processes. These improvements are expected to increase precision, productivity and operational efficiency.
Automation can help manufacturers improve production consistency while reducing repetitive manual processes. Digital systems can also provide better visibility into equipment performance, quality control and production flow.
The investment is designed to help Pratt & Whitney Canada respond to growing global demand for aircraft engines. Expanding capacity at Longueuil will also support the company’s ability to serve existing customers and future aviation programs.
Funding support will come from Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada and Quebec’s Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy. The specific amount of government support was not disclosed.
The project reinforces Pratt & Whitney Canada’s longstanding presence within Quebec’s aerospace industry. The Longueuil facility is a major center for aircraft engine manufacturing, engineering and related skilled employment.
Pratt & Whitney Canada is part of Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business. Pratt & Whitney designs, manufactures and services aircraft engines and auxiliary power units for commercial, military and civil aviation customers.
The company currently supports more than 90,000 engines in service through its global maintenance, repair and overhaul network. RTX generated more than $88 billion in sales during 2025 and employs over 180,000 people worldwide.
