White & Case has added Rubina (Rubi) Ali as a partner in New York, expanding the firm’s Global Capital Markets Practice, Derivatives Practice and Global Financial Institutions Industry Group.
Ali advises financial institutions, investment funds and corporations on derivatives and fixed-income transactions. Her experience spans complex cross-border structures, including deal-contingent hedges, risk participation agreements, rate caps, master repurchase agreements and other hedging structures. She also advises on the treatment of derivatives under bankruptcy and insolvency laws.
Ali joins White & Case from another law firm, where she served as an of counsel. Previously, she was a vice president and senior counsel for the Fixed Income Derivatives Group in the Global Markets Division at Goldman Sachs. She also served as a vice president at Barclays.
White & Case said the hire builds on continued expansion of its finance offering globally over the past year, citing a series of partner additions across capital markets, debt finance, and project development and finance in offices including New York, Brussels, Milan, London and Houston.
