Ruli.ai, a legal intelligence platform built by former Google and Meta technologists alongside experienced attorneys, announced it has raised $6 million in new seed funding, bringing its total capital raised to $8 million in just over one year. Album VC led the round with participation from SignalFire, PJC, Foothill Ventures, Mana, and Genius Ventures.
The company’s platform is designed to introduce what it calls continuous legal intelligence, enabling in-house legal teams to receive real-time, context-aware insights drawn from internal operations and the broader regulatory landscape. Instead of traditional contract tools or generalized AI chat assistants, Ruli’s system continuously learns from company activity and legal updates to support proactive, personalized decision-making.
Ruli.ai also announced the appointment of Michele Lee, former General Counsel of Pinterest and current GC in Residence at Wilson Sonsini, to its Advisory Board. Her addition brings corporate governance, regulatory, and strategic experience to support the company’s mission of modernizing internal legal operations.
The platform is designed to reduce reliance on outside counsel and manual workflows by integrating directly into systems such as Microsoft Word and internal document repositories. Legal departments can utilize Ruli to streamline contract review and management, stay ahead of regulatory changes, enhance compliance oversight, and scale their work without increasing headcount.
The company plans to use the funding to expand its team, accelerate product development, and drive broader market adoption of its suite of legal intelligence tools, which include a real-time AI assistant, contract redlining capabilities, and an intelligent document archive. Ruli’s leadership and engineering team bring backgrounds from major law firms, corporate in-house legal teams, and advanced AI product organizations.
