Runway, an AI video generation and world modeling company, announced that it has raised $315 million in a Series E funding round to accelerate the development of next-generation world models and expand its product capabilities across industries. The Series E round was led by General Atlantic, with participation from NVIDIA, Adobe Ventures, AllianceBernstein, AMD Ventures, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Mirae Asset, Emphatic Capital, Felicis, and Premji Invest.

The company said the new capital will support continued research and development of world models, which it views as foundational to the future of media generation and interactive content. Runway plans to use the funding to pre-train more advanced models and integrate them into new tools and workflows for creative professionals and enterprise users.

With this latest round, Runway’s valuation has reportedly reached approximately $5.3 billion, nearly doubling its prior valuation. The announcement underscores growing investor interest in generative AI platforms that combine large-scale model development with practical creative applications.

Runway has positioned itself at the forefront of AI-driven video creation, enabling users to generate and edit video content using text prompts and other multimodal inputs. The company believes world models represent a major technological shift with broad implications beyond entertainment, including design, simulation, and industrial use cases.
