Ryan, a global tax services and software provider, announced it has acquired New York City–based property tax consulting firm Hucke and Associates. The deal is aimed at strengthening Ryan’s property tax advisory capabilities and expanding the firm’s ability to support commercial real estate owners facing complex property tax challenges across major markets.
Founded in 2001 by Peter Hucke, Hucke and Associates has developed a reputation as a boutique property tax advisory firm specializing in property tax appeals and valuation advocacy. The firm advises property owners and developers across a range of asset classes, combining deep assessment expertise with hands-on representation.
The acquisition aligns Hucke and Associates’ services with Ryan’s broader property tax advisory platform. Key capabilities include property tax appeals and valuation advocacy, pre-acquisition analysis and tax projections, negotiation of assessed values with taxing authorities, and guidance on exemptions and incentive-related property tax relief.
Ryan said the firm’s expertise across hospitality, office, retail, industrial, and multifamily property types will complement its existing property tax capabilities and strengthen its position in key markets, particularly highly scrutinized jurisdictions such as New York City.
As part of the transaction, Hucke and Associates’ leadership and team will join Ryan’s property tax practice. This includes owners Peter Hucke, Stephen Hucke, and Devon Shapiro, who will continue advising clients as part of Ryan’s expanding platform.
