SafeinHome: $25 Million Series D Raised To Expand Remote Supports For I/DD And Medicaid Populations

SafeinHome, a provider of technology-enabled Remote Supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, said it has completed the first close of a targeted $25 million Series D funding round led by SEMCAP Health, with continued participation from existing investors.

The company said the new investment will bring total funding to $67 million and will be used to scale person-centered Remote Supports services across its footprint as Medicaid programs and service providers face rising costs and workforce shortages.

SafeinHome positions its model as an alternative to exclusively in-person support, combining remote staff with proprietary technology to deliver 24/7 assistance that helps individuals live more independently. The company said its services address areas such as home and kitchen safety, medication management, and daily living support, and are intended for people with autism, seizure disorders, fall risk, elopement risk, and other complex needs. SafeinHome said it operates at enterprise-scale, with member engagement and compliance supported by individualized support plans and state regulations.

The company said its software platform is designed for state and managed Medicaid programs, direct support agencies, health plans, and other risk-bearing entities. SafeinHome said it leverages more than 30 million hours of real-world support data from thousands of individuals across 17 states to recommend support plans it describes as effective and cost-efficient, and to deliver consistent outcomes at scale. SafeinHome cited performance metrics that include 60% total cost savings per hour of service for providers and Medicaid, 96% monthly retention rates with high individual sentiment scores, and 99% daily support plan completion rates.

SafeinHome framed the financing as arriving during a period of significant pressure on Medicaid-funded services, pointing to state budget constraints and a shortage of direct support professionals. The company said the new capital will be used to expand access across its 17 state programs, deepen services and partnerships in California, and enhance its data-insight capabilities, including AI, to personalize services further, improve outcomes, and support proactive crisis management.

SEMCAP Health views SafeinHome as a scalable approach to addressing the rising costs of facility-level and in-person support, while emphasizing independence and dignity for individuals receiving services. The company also highlighted support from the National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services, which described person-centered models that deliver economic impact as increasingly essential as Medicaid budgets tighten.

KEY QUOTES:

“This is a defining moment, and inflection point for both Medicaid and SafeinHome,” said Ken Traverso, CEO of SafeinHome. “As states continue to spend 20-40% of their annual budgets on Medicaid services, and the nation experiences a severe shortage of direct support professionals (DSPs), our industry must adopt innovative models of service and support. With this new investment, we are expanding our capacity to deliver timely, person-centered support to enable thousands of I/DD individuals as well as older adults (LTSS) to live independently.”
