Safety Management Group announced that it acquired CrossSafety, a Canadian health, safety, and environmental services provider. Safety Management Group is a portfolio company of Gryphon Investors.
The transaction also includes CrossSafety’s TRH operations in the U.S. and Mexico. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition creates one of the largest providers of outsourced workplace health and safety services in North America. The combined company will have more than 500 team members after adding approximately 150 environmental, health, and safety professionals from CrossSafety.
The deal brings together two organizations with more than three decades of experience helping clients protect employees, improve operational performance, and manage risk. Safety Management Group said the acquisition expands its expertise, customer base, end-market coverage, and geographic reach.
CrossSafety is known for technical expertise, client service, and employee development. Safety Management Group said those qualities align closely with its own mission and culture.
Safety Management Group plans to maintain the service levels and trusted client relationships built by both organizations while integrating teams and using the combined platform to deliver more value to customers.
The acquisition supports Gryphon Investors’ strategy of scaling Safety Management Group through organic growth, geographic expansion, enhanced capabilities, and strategic M&A. Gryphon said CrossSafety adds deep client relationships, complementary capabilities, and a respected team across attractive end markets.
Safety Management Group provides environmental, health, and safety services such as strategic assessments, program and policy development, embedded on-site leadership, execution resources, immersive training, and supplier oversight.
The company’s services are supported by VERO, its proprietary SaaS platform for contractor pre-qualification, compliance management, and real-time visibility into safety performance. Safety Management Group said its services and technology help clients embed repeatable EH&S practices into daily operations and improve safety culture and risk management over time.
Safety Management Group serves end markets where safety and environmental performance are mission-critical, including utilities, pharmaceuticals and biopharmaceuticals, manufacturing, semiconductor fabrication, and data centers. Before the CrossSafety acquisition, the company had more than 300 credentialed safety advisors nationwide.
Gryphon Investors is a middle-market private investment firm with more than $10 billion of assets under management. The firm invests across business services, consumer, healthcare, industrial growth, software, and technology solutions and services.
