SAI360, a leader in integrated risk and compliance software, has acquired Lawcode GmbH, the German creators of Hintbox. Hintbox is a next-generation whistleblower hotline and case management platform, widely trusted in the DACH region. This deal aims to significantly modernize the U.S. hotline case management and reporting landscape.
The move introduces a secure, feature-rich alternative to older U.S. hotline systems. Hintbox’s no-code platform offers rapid deployment, multi-language support, anonymous two-way communication, and AI-enhanced workflows, all within a GDPR-compliant and ISO 27001-certified security framework. Hintbox was specifically developed to meet stringent EU whistleblower laws, including the EU Whistleblower Directive and Germany’s HinSchG.
This acquisition also addresses the global increase in whistleblower legislation. While formal reporting channels are now mandated across the EU, U.S. regulators like the SEC and DOJ are heightening expectations for accessible, anonymous reporting systems in sectors such as finance, healthcare, and technology.
Lawcode GmbH will continue to operate independently in Europe under the Hintbox and Lawcode brands. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
