Salesforce: $5.6 Billion IDIQ Contract Award From U.S. Army

Salesforce announced that the U.S. Army has awarded the company a 10 year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract with a ceiling value of $5.6 billion, aimed at accelerating military modernization and supporting Department of War readiness. The agreement is executed through Computable Insights LLC, which Salesforce described as a wholly owned subsidiary dedicated to its national security operations.

Under the contract, the Army and the Department of War can use Salesforce’s Missionforce National Security offering as a foundation for an “agentic enterprise,” with the company positioning its compliant cloud technologies and data capabilities as a way to accelerate decision making, optimize operations, and improve support for warfighters, civilian personnel, industrial base partners, and dependents.

Salesforce said the expanded arrangement is designed to let the Army scale capabilities on demand while shortening procurement timelines, streamlining contracting and pricing to reduce costs, and unifying fragmented data sources into an interoperable platform intended to increase mission readiness and decision velocity. The company also framed the work as creating an “agent ready” baseline by connecting systems and standardizing trusted workflows so future AI agents can be deployed as force multipliers across mission needs.

Salesforce pointed to prior U.S. military modernization efforts as context for the award, including work with the Army Human Resource Command to modernize a main service center and call center, as well as ongoing work to equip the Army’s recruiting enterprise with secure, integrated CRM, collaboration, and integration capabilities. The company said it expects to provide additional detail on the contract’s contribution to financial performance during its Q4 earnings call, and noted that the IDIQ structure means financial impact is realized as orders are placed rather than upfront.

The company said the 10-year term consists of a 5-year base ordering period and a 5-year optional ordering period, and emphasized that the $5.6 billion figure reflects a ceiling rather than a guaranteed purchase amount.
