Salesforce has received a Department of Veterans Affairs contract with a ceiling of $1.6 billion to modernize healthcare, benefits administration, and other services for U.S. veterans.
The Agentic Enterprise License Agreement has an initial one-year term and includes options for two additional one-year renewals.
Through the agreement, the VA will use Salesforce’s Missionforce platform to connect employees, data, AI agents and workflows across the department.
The VA provides healthcare, benefits and related services to more than 17 million veterans, family members and caregivers.
Its healthcare network includes 170 medical centers and more than 1,100 outpatient clinics. The Veterans Health Administration provided more than 82 million direct-care appointments during 2025.
Salesforce said the technology will help reduce administrative work and give employees faster access to information needed to support veterans.
Missionforce will provide AI-powered contact center assistance, care coordination, integrated data and collaboration tools.
Agentforce Public Sector and Agentforce Health will support virtual contact centers handling patient intake, triage, benefits verification and care coordination. The AI agents are expected to surface relevant information during calls and route cases to appropriate employees.
The agents will be authorized under the federal government’s FedRAMP High security standard and designed to support healthcare privacy requirements.
Slack, which is already used across more than 150 VA medical and outpatient facilities, will continue serving as a collaboration layer connecting employees, systems and workflows.
Salesforce will also support the VA’s Unified Patient Scheduling initiative, which coordinates community care across more than 40,000 provider services. The VA’s stated goal is to eventually reduce average scheduling time from 28 days to minutes.
MuleSoft and Data 360 will connect legacy systems through a unified data layer, while Tableau will provide operational dashboards and performance reporting.
Existing Salesforce-supported VA programs include VA Health Connect, which has handled more than 40.6 million calls, and the Status Query and Response Exchange System, which gives over 2,100 authorized users access to veteran eligibility information.

“The goal is simple: reduce administrative burden, help employees get to the right information faster, and give them more time to deliver the care and benefits Veterans have earned.”
Kendall Collins, CEO of Missionforce and Government Cloud at Salesforce
“Missionforce gives them the tools to match that commitment at scale, seamlessly connected data, AI that works alongside every employee, and a foundation of trust built to handle the most demanding missions in government.”
