Salesforce To Acquire Loops To Advance Agentic Analytics Strategy

Salesforce signed a definitive agreement to acquire Loops, an AI-powered analytics platform that continuously monitors business performance, explains changes in key metrics, and identifies opportunities for improvement.

Salesforce plans to integrate Loops into Tableau following the close of the transaction.

The acquisition is intended to advance Salesforce’s agentic analytics strategy by helping customers better understand what is driving business performance and determine what actions to take next.

Loops uses machine learning models to monitor key performance indicators, identify trends and anomalies, and surface explanations for changes in business metrics.

The platform also includes headless, agentic capabilities that can be triggered through tools such as Slack and email.

Salesforce said the technology can help organizations move from identifying an insight to taking action within existing workflows.

The company is positioning Tableau as part of a broader shift from traditional data-driven analytics toward what it describes as the agentic analytics enterprise.

Loops is expected to strengthen that strategy by adding capabilities that do more than surface what happened, including identifying why changes occurred and recommending where teams and AI agents can act.

Following the transaction, Salesforce plans to bring Loops’s technology and specialized talent into Tableau.

The company said the combination could help customers uncover trusted insights and make faster, more informed decisions using their data.

The transaction is expected to close in early November of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2027.

The deal remains subject to customary closing conditions.
