SAP SE announced it has agreed to acquire Reltio, a master data management software provider, in a move aimed at helping customers make both SAP and non-SAP enterprise data ready for artificial intelligence applications.

The transaction, announced March 27, 2026, underscores SAP’s push to strengthen its Business Data Cloud and expand its position in enterprise AI. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SAP said the acquisition will enhance its Business Data Cloud, a core component of its AI-first and suite-first strategy, by enabling organizations to unify, cleanse, and harmonize data across multiple sources. The combined capabilities are designed to support enterprise-wide AI applications, including agent-based systems that rely on consistent, high-quality data.

Reltio’s platform provides tools for managing structured and unstructured enterprise data, using AI-based entity resolution to merge records from different systems into a single “golden record.” This approach allows companies to maintain a consistent view of key business entities such as customers, suppliers, products, and employees across both SAP and non-SAP environments.

SAP expects the integration of Reltio to improve data reliability and governance, enabling faster and more accurate AI-driven insights and automation. The company also noted that Reltio’s capabilities will support real-time, multi-agent workflows and reduce integration complexity across enterprise systems.

Following the close of the transaction, Reltio will become a core capability within SAP’s Business Data Cloud, while continuing to be offered as a standalone solution with a flexible commercial model. The deal is expected to close in the second or third quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

KEY QUOTES:

“Reltio is a natural fit with SAP. Acquiring them will further improve our position as a leading business AI provider, combining SAP and non-SAP data to deliver data context that business AI requires. AI cannot reach its full potential when data is fragmented across business units, platforms and domains without connection or context.”

Muhammad Alam, Member Of The Executive Board, SAP SE, SAP Product & Engineering

“Joining forces with SAP presents a tremendous opportunity for us to accelerate our mission. Enterprise AI needs trusted context that is open and interoperable across the heterogeneous IT landscapes our customers run. This combination accelerates our ability to deliver Reltio as the system of context across SAP and non-SAP environments, while maintaining continuity for our customers and our partner ecosystem.”
