SAP To Buy Omnichannel Customer Engagement Company Emarsys

SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) has announced it has entered into an agreement to buy Emarsys, which is a leading omnichannel customer engagement platform provider. Emarsys enables businesses to engage more effectively and more personally with their customers.

Emarsys will enhance the SAP Customer Experience portfolio by creating a new paradigm for how commerce is managed digitally as it will deliver hyperpersonalized and omnichannel engagements in real time, thus helping organizations ensure every engagement is relevant and impactful.

Emarsys is known as an innovative and easy-to-use fully integrated cloud-based marketing platform. And it allows companies to deliver personal customer interactions across e-mail, mobile, social, SMS, and the web at scale.

Emarsys was founded by Josef Ahorner, chairman of the Supervisory Board, Hagai Hartman and Daniel Harari in Vienna, Austria. Today Emarsys has over 1,500 customers worldwide and more than 800 employees across 13 offices including London, Berlin, Sydney and Budapest, as well as a U.S. headquarters in Indianapolis. The company’s operations will become part of the SAP Customer Experience business unit. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2020, subject to regulatory approval. Purchase price and other terms of the transaction are not disclosed.
