SAP has introduced the Autonomous Enterprise at SAP Sapphire 2026 in Orlando, a comprehensive framework designed to enhance the world’s most critical business workflows by uniting AI agents with enterprise processes, data, and governance. The announcement centers on a unified SAP Business AI Platform, the launch of SAP Autonomous Suite, a redesigned user experience called Joule Work, and a €100 million fund to accelerate customer adoption. The company also deepened partnerships with Anthropic, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Palantir.

SAP Business AI Platform unifies SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP Business Data Cloud, and SAP Business AI into a single governed environment. At its core is the SAP Knowledge Graph, which gives AI agents a structured map of business entities, processes, and relationships across a customer’s SAP landscape. Joule Studio serves as SAP’s AI-first solution for building enterprise agents, applications, and agentic workflows across no-code, pro-code, and AI frameworks. Building on that foundation, SAP Autonomous Suite deploys more than 50 domain-specific Joule Assistants across finance, supply chain, procurement, human capital management, and customer experience, orchestrating a subset of more than 200 specialized agents to execute end-to-end processes. One example is the new Autonomous Close Assistant, designed to compress the financial close process from weeks to days by automating journal entries, reconciliation, and error resolution. SAP also launched Industry AI, expanding into seven autonomous solutions embedding sector-specific process logic, data models, and regulatory requirements, with early work including a collaboration with European energy company RWE to reduce unplanned downtime across offshore wind turbines.

The €100 million partner fund will help customers deploy SAP-built AI assistants and agents, while new agent-led transformation tooling is designed to reduce ERP migration efforts by more than 35%. Strategic partnerships span Claude from Anthropic among the foundation models powering Joule agents across HR, procurement, and supply chain; zero-copy data integration between SAP Business Data Cloud and Amazon Athena; bidirectional agent-to-agent interoperability with Google Cloud and Microsoft; sovereign model options from Mistral AI and Cohere; and a secure runtime from NVIDIA for Joule Studio.
