Saphyre, a pre-trade through post-trade platform focused on accelerating trade-readiness and settlement cycles for major financial institutions, has appointed Damian Handzy as Chief Operating Officer.
The company said Handzy will lead global operations as it continues to expand its AI-powered infrastructure across the investment management and capital markets ecosystem. His appointment comes as Saphyre scales its platform to support a growing international client base and deepen operational capabilities.
Handzy brings more than 25 years of executive experience in financial technology, spanning both private equity-backed and publicly traded companies. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of Analytics at Confluence Technologies, where he led the performance, risk, and reporting businesses. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles including Founder and CEO of Investor Analytics, Chief Commercial Officer of Style Analytics, and Global Head of Risk at StatPro, with responsibilities across product, operations, marketing, and client services.
In his new role, Handzy will oversee day-to-day operations, client delivery, and cross-functional execution. He will work closely with the leadership team, board of directors, and strategic growth investor FTV Capital to support global expansion. His responsibilities include scaling operational infrastructure, enhancing client implementation and success, and strengthening partnerships across the financial services industry.
The leadership move is part of a broader effort by Saphyre to invest in execution and strategic growth. Ray Shivers will transition to Chief Partnership Officer, focusing on expanding and reinforcing strategic relationships across the industry. Shivers has played a central role in developing Saphyre’s partnerships and will continue to work closely with clients and partners to drive adoption and long-term value creation.
Saphyre leverages patented AI technology to digitize pre-trade data and related activities across counterparties, including asset owners, investment managers, hedge funds, prime brokers, broker-dealers, and custodians. The platform retains structured data and documentation to eliminate repetitive submissions and streamline information exchange between authorized parties. According to the company, this enables firms to assess risk more quickly, accelerate onboarding, access real-time trade-readiness status per account, and eliminate 70% to 75% of redundant or inefficient post-trade processes.
