Sapient Capital: First Major Advisor Hire With Addition Of Veteran Private Banker Joshua Mandelbaum

By Amit Chowdhry • Nov 21, 2025

Sapient Capital has expanded its national advisory team with the hiring of longtime J.P. Morgan Private Bank executive Joshua Mandelbaum, who joins the independent wealth advisory firm as a Partner and Wealth Advisor in New York. His appointment represents Sapient’s first official advisor recruit since bringing on Partner David Larado to drive national hiring efforts.

The firm, which serves multi-generational families, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, endowments, and foundations, has been executing a deliberate strategy to attract experienced private wealth talent to its independent platform. Mandelbaum, who spent seventeen years at J.P. Morgan Private Bank and most recently served as a Managing Director, brings a decade of dual experience as both a private banker and investment specialist. His book of business exceeded one billion dollars at his prior institution.

Sapient emphasized that Mandelbaum’s background and advisory approach closely align with the firm’s focus on holistic planning, investment discipline, and family-office-level solutions for UHNW clients. A native of Indianapolis, he will reconnect with his Midwestern roots while helping strengthen Sapient’s presence in New York.

Founded in Indianapolis and operating offices in Los Angeles, Miami, and New York, Sapient Capital seeks to build a scaled, independent platform that prioritizes fiduciary service, technology-driven tools, and a partnership model for advisors looking to serve complex client needs.

Joshua Mandelbaum, Partner, Wealth Advisor at Sapient Capital

“Josh is exactly the caliber of advisor we’re looking to recruit – one who has deep connections with his clients, and who values independence, comprehensive planning, and a dedicated family office approach for ultra-affluent clients. His integrated experience as both a banker and investment specialist perfectly aligns with our mission to deliver thoughtful planning, disciplined investing, and strategic advice. Josh’s decision to join us is a strong validation of the investment we’ve made in our platform, technology, and team. We are thrilled he is our first recruit, and we believe his entrepreneurial spirit and client-first focus will resonate with other top advisors looking to transition to a truly independent and scaled enterprise.”
