Scale Computing, an edge computing and network solutions company, announced that Richard Williams has joined the organization as Chief Financial Officer, bringing extensive experience in finance, strategy, and scaling SaaS platforms to support the company’s continued growth and global expansion.

Williams will oversee Scale Computing’s global finance organization, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, capital strategy, and operational finance. His appointment comes as the company accelerates its expansion and strengthens its position in the edge computing and distributed infrastructure markets.

Prior to joining Scale Computing, Williams served as Chief Financial Officer at Eagle Eye Networks, where he helped guide the company through significant global growth and market expansion. Eagle Eye Networks, now part of Brivo following a recent acquisition, provides AI-based access control and security management solutions delivered through a SaaS platform to millions of users worldwide.

The leadership addition comes during a period of strategic growth for Scale Computing. The company recently acquired Adaptiv Networks, a cloud-native Software-Defined Wide-Area Network (SD-WAN) and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) provider. The acquisition expands Scale Computing’s SC//AcuVigil managed network solutions with integrated SD-WAN connectivity, enhanced network performance optimization, and centralized orchestration across distributed environments, while also strengthening its presence in Canada.

Scale Computing delivers a range of edge computing solutions designed to simplify IT operations for organizations operating across distributed locations. Its SC//AcuVigil managed network solutions provide continuous network operations support with self-service visibility and control, enabling operators to monitor, secure, and optimize network connections across multiple sites.

The company also offers SC//Fleet Manager edge orchestration solutions with Zero-Touch Provisioning capabilities that streamline the deployment and management of edge computing infrastructure. Additionally, the SC//Reliant Platform as a Service enables organizations to manage applications, networks, and security controls across large-scale distributed environments without adding operational complexity.

Scale Computing’s SC//HyperCore virtualization suite integrates software, servers, and storage into a single platform designed to simplify IT systems and reduce infrastructure overhead. Meanwhile, SC//Connect, the newly branded family of Adaptiv Networks’ SD-WAN solutions, provides cloud-native networking capabilities that improve WAN performance, reliability, and security for enterprise environments.

Scale Computing supports organizations managing distributed operations by providing infrastructure that can scale from a single location to tens of thousands of sites. The company is backed by Oaktree Capital Management and focuses on delivering integrated solutions for edge computing, virtualization, and network management.
