Scavenger AI: €2.5 Million Seed Round Raised To Democratize Business Data Access For European SMEs

By Amit Chowdhry ● Nov 4, 2025

Scavenger AI, a Frankfurt-based startup focused on democratizing access to business data, has raised €2.5 million in seed funding. The round highlights increasing investor confidence in AI-driven analytics platforms tailored to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Europe.

The company has developed a conversational, natural-language interface that enables non-technical employees to query and extract insights from enterprise data systems, including ERP, CRM, and SQL. This approach eliminates the need for complex dashboards or specialized business intelligence teams, enabling any employee to interact directly with company data by asking questions in plain language. The platform integrates data from multiple sources into a unified semantic layer and is fully GDPR-compliant, with data hosting entirely within Europe.

Founded in 2023 by Felix Beissel and Maximilian Hahnenkamp, Scavenger AI was built to address a significant gap in Europe’s mid-market sector. The founders estimate that about 70% of European SMEs still lack modern business intelligence tools. Their goal is to offer a European counter-model to U.S. data platforms, emphasizing explainability, privacy, and ease of use.

The €2.5 million seed round was led by BMH Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen mbH (BMH), with participation from xdeck’s innovation fund, High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), and Calm/Storm Ventures. The company plans to use the funds to accelerate product development, expand its sales and engineering teams, and scale across Europe.

Scavenger AI is targeting SMEs in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and the broader European mid-market. Many companies in this space generate significant amounts of data across systems but lack the tools to make meaningful use of it. Unlike enterprise-focused analytics tools from major vendors like Microsoft and Snowflake, Scavenger AI promises “data access for all” without requiring code or heavy setup, while ensuring data stays within European borders.

However, challenges remain. Integrating disparate data systems is complex, even with “no-code” tools. The startup also faces competition from large analytics platforms investing heavily in AI-based self-service tools. Scaling across Europe introduces additional hurdles such as language localization, varying data maturity levels, and regulatory nuances. Encouraging adoption among SMEs—many of which have limited budgets and resources—will also be key to the company’s growth.

With its new capital, Scavenger AI plans to enhance its semantic layer, refine its natural-language capabilities, and support additional data sources. It also intends to expand its European footprint, particularly in Germany and its neighboring countries, while growing its engineering, sales, and customer success teams. The company aims to focus on vertical-specific use cases in departments like finance, sales, and production, where data insights can drive immediate business value.

The funding round signals investor confidence in the potential of democratized analytics for SMEs and strengthens the broader push for European AI sovereignty. Scavenger AI’s vision of providing all employees—not just data scientists—with access to actionable insights aligns with the growing shift from dashboards and manual analysis toward conversational AI interfaces.

Scavenger AI’s €2.5 million raise marks a significant milestone for the European AI ecosystem. By simplifying access to data while maintaining strict privacy and sovereignty standards, the company is positioning itself to become a leader in AI-driven business analytics for Europe’s SME sector. Execution and differentiation will be crucial as it seeks to deliver on that promise.
