Scienjoy To Acquire 29.9% Stake In Leader Education For $13.1 Million

Scienjoy Holding Corporation has agreed to acquire a 29.9% stake in Leader Education Limited for HK$102.69 million, or approximately $13.1 million, as the company looks to combine its artificial intelligence capabilities with a Chinese higher education platform.

Through wholly owned subsidiary Scienjoy Innovation Labs, Scienjoy will acquire 239.2 million Leader Education shares from controlling shareholder Shuren Education Limited.

Leader Education provides private higher education services in China. The company operates Heilongjiang College of Business and Technology, an undergraduate institution focused on engineering and business management, and has invested in two vocational schools since 2021. Its education group spans four campuses across three locations.

Scienjoy plans to explore ways to combine Leader Education’s educational resources with its AI technology, including tools supporting course-content development and management, administrative systems, teaching and research.

The company sees potential applications across teaching, learning, content development and student experiences as it builds a broader presence at the intersection of AI, education and digital content.

Closing is subject to due diligence, required consents and waivers, continued listing of Leader Education shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and other conditions. The deal may be deemed a related-party transaction because Scienjoy independent director Jun Lu also serves as an executive director of Leader Education.
