By Amit Chowdhry • Apr 1, 2026

Seagray announced that it has acquired Worldwide Currencies, marking the first step in a broader strategy to build a diversified and integrated financial services group.

The transaction represents the initial move in a structured acquisition program aimed at creating a well-rounded financial services platform with interconnected service lines. Founded more than 20 years ago, Worldwide Currencies has developed a strong foreign exchange business built on long-standing client relationships, disciplined execution, and a service-focused culture.

As part of the deal, former Monex CEO Nick Edgeley has joined Worldwide Currencies as Chief Executive Officer to lead its next phase of growth. The company will serve as the foundation for Seagray’s expansion into complementary financial services sectors.

Seagray plans to broaden Worldwide Currencies’ FX capabilities, invest in infrastructure, and position the business within a larger multi-offering financial services group. The company also intends to pursue additional acquisitions that enhance its capabilities, strengthen operational resilience, and support long-term value creation across industries and economic cycles.

KEY QUOTES:

“Worldwide Currencies has a strong foundation and a highly loyal client base. Our priority is to build on that strength, firstly broadening our FX capabilities then investing in infrastructure, and ultimately positioning the business within a larger, multi-offering financial services group.”
