Secovia Capital has acquired Ferrovia, the railroad vegetation management business of Genesis Rail Company, a portfolio company of Auxo Investment Partners. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Auxo acquired Ferrovia in November 2021 as part of the Genesis Rail platform.
Since then, Ferrovia has grown into what Northborne describes as the largest railroad vegetation management services provider in the U.S.
The business provides regulated vegetation management, inspection and abatement services to North America’s Class I railroads, Class II and short-line railroads, industrial rail customers, state transportation departments and utilities.
Genesis Rail will continue to be led by CEO Rance Randall and its existing management team following the divestiture.
Northborne said the investment case around Ferrovia reflects recurring maintenance spending, essential infrastructure services, technology-enabled service delivery and opportunities for both organic expansion and acquisitions.
The deal marks Northborne’s 18th completed rail-related transaction over the past five years and its fifth during 2026.
Support: Northborne Partners served as exclusive financial advisor to Genesis and Auxo.
