Section Partners: $189 Million Raised For Two New Funds

By Amit Chowdhry ● Nov 10, 2025

Section Partners announced the final closing of two investment vehicles totaling $189 million in capital commitments, reflecting continued backing from existing investors and interest from new limited partners. The capital was raised across Section Capital V, LP, and Section Ventures II, LP, along with a parallel co-investment vehicle.

The firm will utilize the funds to expand its work in providing personalized financing solutions for founders and stockholders, as well as growth capital for late-stage venture-backed technology companies.

Section Capital V, LP, and its co-investment fund primarily support structured transactions involving individual stockholders in late-stage technology companies. The strategy also includes direct equity investments in both primary and secondary transactions, coordinated with Section Ventures II, LP. The firm positions itself as a partner to late-stage companies by offering liquidity to stockholders, purchasing secondary shares, and participating in pre-IPO capital rounds.

Since its founding in 2014, the firm has completed transactions involving stockholders at more than 80 companies. Thirty-seven of its portfolio companies have achieved liquidity events. These include notable technology companies such as Airbnb, CrowdStrike, DocuSign, Figure Technologies, GitHub, Heartflow, Klarna, MongoDB, One Medical, Palantir, Pinterest, Uber, and Upwork.

Section Partners is led by Managing Partner and Founder Dave Crowder alongside Managing Partner Solomon Lee. Crowder has over three decades of experience in Silicon Valley across venture capital and technology investment banking, including roles at Thomas Weisel Venture Partners, Thomas Weisel Partners, and Montgomery Securities. Lee joined in 2024 after nearly ten years in Morgan Stanley’s Technology Investment Banking group, where he led advisory and financing engagements for enterprise software companies. The firm has also expanded its investment team with three new professionals in the last year.

Section Partners manages over $575 million in committed capital. The firm focuses on providing investor downside protection and equity upside potential through proprietary financing structures.
