Liferaft, a SaaS-based open-source intelligence platform used by enterprise and corporate security teams, has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Securitas, the global safety and security services provider. The deal is positioned to combine Liferaft’s threat-intelligence technology with Securitas’ scale and operational security footprint, deepening intelligence-led security offerings worldwide.

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Halifax, Canada, Liferaft aggregates and analyzes threat data through continuous monitoring of social media as well as deep and dark web sources. The company says its platform supports key security workflows, including protective intelligence, executive protection, duty of care, and threat actor investigations, with a focus on helping teams validate intelligence quickly, collaborate internally, and distribute actionable findings across organizations.

Under the agreement, Liferaft will continue to operate as a standalone business after closing, with an ongoing emphasis on product development and customer support. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2026, subject to customary conditions.

KEY QUOTES

“From the beginning, Liferaft was built to help security teams cut through noise and focus on what truly matters. Being acquired by Securitas is a natural next step in that mission. Their global reach, security expertise, and commitment to intelligence-led security strongly align with our vision. This combination creates meaningful long-term value for customers while allowing Liferaft to continue innovating and supporting the teams who rely on our platform every day.”
